Proposal for the creation of alt.discuss.alt.discuss.info
alt.discuss.alt.discuss.info is dedicated to providing information for the new (and not so new) user of the alt.discuss newsgroups.
There are two groups in Usenet that this group has been loosely based on. They are news:news.announce.newusers and news:news.groups.questions
Topics will include:
Monthly posts of:
Information on the history of alt.discuss. How it was created, who created it and why.
Information on the hierarchy.
Information on the naming of newsgroups and the importance of proper naming.
Information on netiquette and its importance.
Information on how to express yourself through the written word so there are no misunderstandings.
Information on the use of the search engine provided by web tv for the newsgroups. How to find what you are looking for.
Any questions pertaining to the alt.discuss newsgroups will be on-topic and questions will be answered in a timely fashion.
Anyone knowledgable of the alt.discuss hierarchy is invited to participate and write the monthly information posts. Also to answer the questions that will come up daily.
Flaming is discouraged.
