This group is being proposed in hopes to create a social environment for off-topic material that has in the past been posted in alt.discuss.html Althought "Happy Birthdays" and cangratulatory posts are meant with the best intentions they can sometimes push legitimate questions off the board. Having a more appropriate place to post some of this material may assist in alleviating some excessive off-topic banter in such a fast paced forum. It would also open up a whole new door for getting to know your fellow posters of alt.discuss.html
