Proposal for the creation of alt.discuss.music.rock.punk

CHARTER:
This group will be for the intelligent discussion of various "punk" and or "independent" genre bands. This is a very wide field of discussion and I want this group to cover all the bases of this highly unique and individualistic form of music. From punk and independent rocks first well-known's such as Iggy Pop and Lou Reed to 70's obscure artists like Roky Erickson to the "real" punk explosions of The Sex Pistols and The Ramones. This group will welcome it. Also, who can forget the incredible 80's? Artists like The Cars who bordered punk / pop / and new wave classifications all in one to very influential acts such as Black Flag and H=FCsker D=FC. All of which, once again, this group will more than welcome. And last but not least, who can deny the 90's? Even if it's not your thing, you honestly cant deny where bands like Green Day and The Offspring got their influence, and the influence they may possibly have on future music generations, so fans of these bands will be welcomed here as well. This group will cover ALL the fields of the independent / punk music scene, as well as Oi, hardcore and new wave 80's pop / punk...ie, The Cars etc.
