Proposal for the creation of alt.discuss.philosophy.atheism

This newsgroup will be a discussion about atheism.

Atheists do not believe in heaven or hell or God or the devil or the bible or any of the numorous religious beliefs. They do not feel any need to add, what they feel, is a complicating, contradictory, threatening religious theory to their life. Atheists have philosophical & scientific evidence as to their existance on this earth.

An _Agnostic_, on the other hand is unsure as to whether or not any god/gods exist and will question the existance.

I did not wish to propose it under the religion hierarchy as it is not a religion and therefore I do not wish it to be classified as such. I feel it would draw in too many people who are out to try and convert, thus causing many arguments within the group.

A charter will be made if the group passes. ~Kat~
